# Record unresolved batch-versus-document accounting placement

## Context

An earlier product decision describes document-derived placement, while the implemented generation and current planning finding describe collection-derived placement. Observation does not amend that decision.

## Decision

The decision remains open. The design records the implemented placement without authorizing it to replace the recorded product policy.

## Alternatives Considered

The alternatives above identify the competing implementation choices and their consequences. They preserve the distinction between a recorded product ruling and a proposed engineering boundary.

## Consequences

The consequence rows describe obligations and known implementation limits at this boundary. Related artifact references retain the affected design homes.
