# New batch

## What the Screen Is For

Finance staff create a collection when new documents need a review and completion boundary. The form asks for enough information to identify that work and can arrange scheduled retirement.

## What It Shows and Lets People Do

The form holds business unit, name, date, description and automatic-close controls. A successful Create Batch response opens the new detail page; Cancel returns to the list. Fiscal placement and base currency are resolved by the service.

## States and Errors

Client validation checks required fields and automatic-close input. Service name and calendar refusals keep the form available for correction. The list gates its creation link, but direct navigation has only the shared read guard; creation permission is enforced by the API. The backend accepts past close instants.

## Patterns It Must Respect

The pinned form uses labelled inputs, adjacent errors, the shared close-time control and EditorActionBar. Document screens can also offer a separate creation dialog; that dialog is not navigation into this page.
