# Resolve accounting destinations when posting

## Context

The recorded product decision allows document issue before accounting defaults are complete. Posting resolves the destination from the configuration available when it runs.

## Decision

Accounting destinations are resolved at posting rather than required at issue. Expected default-account types guide service clients; the console filters its choices by type.

## Alternatives Considered

Block issue until important defaults are assigned. The cited product decision explicitly rejects making GL setup a prerequisite for issue.

Freeze destinations when issuing the document. That would conflict with the recorded posting-time resolution and prevent subsequent setup corrections from affecting unposted work.

## Consequences

Changing configuration after issue can change posting destinations, including tax payable selection.

The missing-default notice is a console warning without a shared service definition of required purposes.

The service accepts account types beyond the console’s expected-type filter.
