# Release Usage Without Reversing Money

## Context

Orders can be voided, fully or partly cancelled, amended or refunded after a campaign was used. Restoring capacity is distinct from changing charged money.

## Decision

Release restores promotion capacity under retained release policy while preserving the order’s original discount evidence.

## Alternatives Considered

Erase the discount when restoring capacity. The retained order and Accounting documents still describe the original charge.

Use the campaign’s latest cancellation choice. Later configuration would change the release policy for an earlier sale.

## Consequences

Voids release applied uses; full allocated-line cancellation uses the frozen choice, and authorized staff can supply a manual reason. Partial cancellation and refunds do not independently return capacity. Release runs once within the owning transaction without reversing allocations.
