# Compatibility Mapping Remains Temporary

## Context

Existing internal links can predate workspace identifiers in addresses. Their intended workspace cannot be recovered from the link alone.

## Decision

Resolve mapped console links in the browser after context selection, preserving record values and queries. Server redirects handle non-workspace compatibility paths. Product must decide retirement.

## Alternatives Considered

Immediate removal breaks held links. Server-only workspace resolution cannot read the per-person browser preference.

## Consequences

Old links remain dependent on current workspace memory. Table and catch-all retirement should be coordinated. No dated retirement approval was inspected.
