# Settings area menu

## What the Screen Is For

A settings area replaces the main menu with the destinations relevant to administrative work. Back to app lets the person return to their previous non-settings page.

## What It Shows and Lets People Do

Configuration organizes its settings into groups and application links. Maintenance offers Scheduled Jobs, and Security offers Users, Roles, Policies and Rhythm Access. Data Management, Responsibilities and Notifications have their own areas. Each area filters its entries. Back to app uses the remembered non-settings path or the workspace home after direct arrival.

## States and Errors

The area menu can show normal entries, filtered matches or no matches. User-menu visibility requires useful work inside an area, but a direct settings address can still reach an area whose visible menu is empty.

## Patterns It Must Respect

SettingsNavigation uses the common sidebar and filter. Area changes remount the area filter. The shared route builders bind entries and the return destination to the current workspace.
