# Navigation retains a bounded identity window

## Context

Opening a record should allow useful Previous and Next movement despite edits and changes in recently viewed order.

## Decision

List navigation retains a bounded window of record identities for the person and queries again when extending or rebuilding that window.

## Alternatives Considered

Execute the full list query for every navigation step: Edits could move the current record relative to its neighbors.

Persist every matching identity: Very large lists would require unbounded session storage.

## Consequences

Interior navigation retains the stored ordering while record contents may change. Edge extension can alter the window, so the entire result set is not immutable.
