Custom Fields Remain Opt-In and Undeclared

Context

Product controls which record types can be extended with custom fields. The approved Commerce capability register declares none for this scope.

Decision

Commerce records use standard fields and purpose-built editing without a custom-field capability.

Alternatives Considered

Enable customer extensions on selected campaigns or listings. This requires a new product declaration; the current Commerce register does not permit it.

Retain the earlier campaign extension-value storage. The capability repair removed that mechanism.

Consequences

Additional customer attributes require an approved declared capability. Existing editing uses record-specific design-system components. The promotion registration has no capability block enabling custom fields.
