Onboard a workspace's portal sign-in pool
What It Does
Onboarding is durable and reuses active or open work. The hop rows separate reservation, provider infrastructure and registry activation.
The Flow
The diagram separates the relevant success, alternative and failure paths. The numbered hop rows retain the detailed authority checks, delegated work and retry limits.
When Something Fails
Failed infrastructure is retained until a safe recovery decision. Empty failed pools can be cleaned on another onboarding; populated pools require an operator. The scheduler and execution limit do not prove an elapsed recovery deadline.
The entry returns active, in-progress or started state rather than duplicating open work. A unique open-job index resolves racing submissions. Recovery of a stale reservation removes only failed infrastructure and empty pools.
Pool and domain creation are constrained by the shared provider control-plane rate. Execution has a two-hour limit; reconciliation settles wedged work without a guaranteed same-day completion or automatic populated-pool cleanup.
Open Design Questions
The recorded findings retain any stronger planning expectation, missing writer or unproved recovery path. Observed behavior does not approve those outstanding product choices.
