Let a carried decision act on the committee’s roster, minutes or charter
Purpose
What the committee votes for happens: appointments are made or ended, minutes approved and committees chartered or dissolved, recorded against the decision.
How It Works
A decision can say what it does if it carries: make appointments, end appointments, approve a meeting’s minutes, or create or dissolve a committee. When it carries, those changes are made at once, through the same rules as if staff made them by hand, and the decision records what it did; if any change is refused, the close is undone and the decision stays open for the committee to withdraw. A decision only ever acts on its own committee. A removal never rewrites an ending that is already recorded, such as a resignation. A later decision can amend or rescind a carried one; when it carries, the original is superseded but keeps its number and text. Rescinding an appointment decision ends the appointments it made. A removal, a charter, approved minutes or another rescission cannot be rescinded, because an ending cannot undo them; the committee decides the matter again with a new decision of the right kind.
